There are multiple file formats you can use, I created a pdf of them for quick reference to find the most appropriate one. As well as file formats there are two image colour formats, RGB and CMYK. The main difference of these is that RGB is for formatting colour on screen and CMYK is for when you print as there are some on screen colours it is impossible to print.
